Kierstyn has always gone by many names… sissy, sissy baby, jane, mabel, miss bananahammock, just to name a few. I have recently been informed that she is no longer Jane. She says the name doesn’t fit her anymore. I have been having a hard time with this one. I have caught myself calling her jane a few times since her announcement and everytime she calls me out on it. Sorry sis, it’s hard to change sometimes…
The other day Kierstyn told me that she thinks she would be able to behave more often if I had a chart with her name on it and everytime she was good I put a sticker next to her name. I told her to imagine there was a chart with her name on it with bunch of stickers next to it. She then replied with “mom, my magination isn’t that good!”. Turns out that after she gets 10 stickers I am supposed to buy her a prize… there is always a catch!
Kierstyn is still a fashion diva. I think she will always be my little punky brewster (Melissa). She is quit whitted and she is more than willing to tell anyone that wants to listen the latest story she could develop in the last 5 minutes. It may be fact, it may be fiction, but none the less there is major enthusiasm and detail in every story!
She may no longer be my Jane, but she will always be my baby girl.

November 18th, 2011Happy 3rd Birthday Sissy Baby!!!
November 25th, 2009Well, Kierstyn, you’re getting so big now. 3 years old!! Wow, the adventures you have endeavored on this last year. You are so determined to accomplish everything you set your mind to. You’re so intelligent and want to learn everything as fast as you possibly can. You’re speech is so clear and some of the words you say come out so adorable.
You are so loving and affectionate. The way your big blue eyes shine when you are telling stories is just mesmerizing. You are such a precious little girl and I am so happy that I get to spend so much time with you. You are truly a blessing in my life that is so dear to me and I treasure every single moment. Grandma loves you the sky, the moon, the stars, the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!
I hope you have a very happy birthday and another most amazing year full of great adventures!
5 kisses baby girl,
Love you bunches,
Grandma
She is made for the outdoors!
June 29th, 2009Kierstyn and camping definitely go hand in hand. She loves to pee outside, cook hot dogs on top of the open fire, s’mores, and fishing… but she will not touch a worm! I can’t really say to much because I am not one to go playing with the worms, but I think that it is so funny. She does great in the tent. She actually stayed in her sleeping bag (unlike her wimpy older sister). She is doing a great job following the “camping rules”. Last night she loved looking at the stars as I pointed out the constellations to her.
I told her stories about when mommy was little and went camping. She wants to go to the make your own sundae place someday.
I have to cut it short because we have to get going to the beach. I will have to get Camdyns site when we get back.
Love to all!

My Chef?
May 1st, 2009Kierstyn is full throttle these days. She can’t seem to sit still for more then 2 seconds at a time. She is still my climber (she will never learn). One of her favorite things to do is watch me cook dinner. She will sit on the counter and watch and ask questions. Why do you put that in? What is that? What does it taste like? Is that red? Can I mix it? So very curious, maybe one of these days she will be cooking the dinner. Tonight she tried to lend a hand. I had a very busy day so I decided that BLT’s would be perfect for dinner, quick and easy. I had the bacon cooked (with her watchful eye of course) and the side dish (rice medley) was almost done all that was left to do was make toast. I had most of it done and I had the last two slices in the toaster. I went into the living room to ask Josh a question and I went into the kitchen just in time to see Kierstyn trying to put another slice of bread into the toaster. Needless to say it wouldn’t fit and she ended up getting her fingers on the metal. My toaster wasn’t at easy level for her to reach mind you, we have a very old apartment with very limited outlets so I had to put my toaster on top of the washing machine. She managed to shimmy up the washer grab some bread and burn herself in a matter of maybe 15 seconds.
The thing that gets me about her is that she does things that she knows is bad. Like she will be doing it with this grin on her face that says “I’m not supposed to be doing this, hahaha”. And then she cries when she gets into trouble, which is crazy because she knows that it is coming.
Maybe one day she will just give in and just follow the rules, but knowing Kierstyn that definitely will not happen any day soon.
She is doing really well on the potty these days, besides her squatting on my leg today before her bath, she hasn’t had an accident in a long time. I think that before bath time today was intentional so I don’t count it as an accident.
Every day she asks me when does she get to go to school and I keep telling her that she can go after her birthday. Little does she know that is half a year away, so I have roughly 26 more weeks of saying “You can’t go to school tomorrow, but you can go after your next happy birthday”. If nothing else I guess I will be well rehearsed for when it’s Camdyns turn!
*Sittoo, we received the Easter cards and my birthday card. I wasn’t sure if I got a hold of you or not afterwards. My days kind of seem to run together. If I haven’t told you we recieved them yet I am sorry and thank you so much, the kids LOVE getting mail. And if I have told you, then well, Thank you again!*
Poor Lil Kierstyn
April 7th, 2009Well, by now everyone probably knows about Kierstyn mishap at the park! She loves to slide and just misjudged her distance and ht her little eye pretty hard. Mommy too her to the hospital since it was so badly swollen so quickly and she hit it so hard on her head. She was ok but still had to wake her every hour or so. She was quite uncomfortable for most of the night. I thought her eye was going swell shut but it didn’t. thank goodness for that. I think it bothered everyone but Kierstyn. She touches it and everything. I don’t know how, it looks so sore to me! Guess she is more resilent than grandma! Grandma gives her Motrin to help it feel better but she doesn’t complain about it at all!! Touch lil girl she is!
She is learning alot farom her sister. She can sing her ABC’s now and relearning her colors. Every color right now is purple! And everything is a circle! she is such a cutie. She talks so soft and the way she says her words are so cute. She is quite intelligent. It all seems so easy to her. Her memory is amazing. She gives puzzle pieces to us and walks away. We switch the pieces and she comes back and takes them from all of us and tells us no that Daddy’s, That Papa’s, etc. until we all have the ones we are supposed to have. She has books memorized. I hope it all remains so easy for her as she gets older.
She will start preschool next winter after she turns 3. She should do very well. She listens well and can sit still for long periods.
Well, off to Camdyn’s site!

Update
March 4th, 2009Well, Kierstyn is such a big girl now. She is doing well with Jaelyn gone all day but is glad when she gets home from school. She helps more with Camdyn now that Jaelyn isn’t there to do it first. She still does all her little antics and is still funny. I wish you could see her facial expressions! She is hilarious!! She is still stuck on “Santa Clauses, watching you!!” have been trying to get her to move on to the easter bunny bt that jsut isn’t clicking in yet. I showed her pictures on the internet but ” it a rabbit, grandma!” so, that just isn’t working to well right now.So we will see at Easter. Maybe with all that candy she will see it differently!
She is learning from Jaelyn and singing her abc’ better and counting with her fingers. She still loves her books and everyone has to read to her constantly. Looks like she is going to be a reader!! She even has Camdyn climbing up to be read to now!!
Sittoo, they have projects done for you and I will get them in the mail in the next day or 2. They just did a new one for you this last weekend. I haven’t forgotten about you!

The woman in charge
February 3rd, 2009Kierstyn is adjusting well to Jaelyn being at school. Every now and again she will ask where she is at, but that is about it. Kierstyn has decided that she is the ruler of the roost now, she is the head honcho. She informed me today that SHE was the big helper now. She is living up to it too, she even put away the milk after breakfast this morning. She is trying to help me do dishes and she is “cleaning” her room as we speak. She has been playing with Camdyn (which is different then normal because usually Jaelyn entertains Camdyn and Kierstyn lets him be). Maybe Jaelyn going to school is good for Kierstyn too. Maybe she can finally break away and get the realization that she is the big sister. Maybe she will realize that she needs to potty on the toilet. I can maybe myself to death, only time will tell. As of today she is being a great big helper!

Christmas
December 27th, 2008Christmas morning started for Kierstyn with Jaelyn jumping on her bed screaming “sissy wake up, we got presents!!”. Kierstyn finally stumbled out of bed all weary eyed. She soon got into the swing of things as soon as I showed her how to dump her stocking onto the floor. All it took was for her to spot one piece of candy and she was alive and ready to go. She popped a lollipop in her mouth and was ready for the action.
She kept her composure through out the entire gift opening session until she got to her baby doll. She opened it up and there was jumping and screaming. She took it out of the box and started dressing it. Finally I got her to notice that there was one more present for her. She opened her last box and it was a smartcycle (a bike that hooks up to the tv and it has learning games and such). She thought that was just great, she kept saying “my bike, my bike”.
After we played for a bit we took naps (well everyone but mommy). After naps we went to Grandmas house (that is where mommy managed to sneek in her nap). While we were there opening presents Kierstyn would open one and toss it to the side, almost emotionless. Just kinda going through the motions. Camdyn pulled on a cord that was apparently under the tree and the whole tree started falling down (we caught it), you would have thought she had just seen the funniest thing. She stood up, covered her mouth and proceeded to laugh from her toes, throwing her head back in laughter and all. It was hilarious. Once we got the tree back up and sturdy again she was much more livelier while opening her presents.
Kierstyn apparently needs a jump start to get excited about presents, but once she does, it is fantastic!
Silly little lady!
December 7th, 2008I was apparently feeling rather adventurous today because while Josh was out hunting I decided it was a good time to make a Gingerbread house. Naturally I had to set aside all perfectionism due to the fact my helpers were 2 and 3 years old. Kierstyn decided to start off right and take a bite out of her tree that she was decorating. This was just the start to our sticky messy fun.
I got the house assembled as they were decorating/ eating their trees. I separated the candy into two piles. No matter how many time I told Kierstyn that we weren’t supposed to eat them and that they were going to go on the house we were making, she refused to believe me. Needless to say Kierstyn has like 6 pieces of candy on her side of the house, the rest are in her tummy.
Kierstyn has been a handful these days. She hardly listens to anything anymore. She was doing really well with the potty training, having hardly any accidents. Now that she hit her terrible twos (or whatever is going on with her these days) she has been doing horribly. She will take off her nap time diaper and squat in the middle of the living room and pee or poop. It is maddening. I really hope she starts to listen again or it is going to be a very long year!
